Business Need

The Customer wanted to make the existing Air purifier smart by connecting it via 4G to remotely monitor and control the Asset and provide more enriched data including air quality and environmental conditions like CO2, Temperature and humidity levels, and offer this as a service to Building owners and facility managers.

Solution 

This solution includes an LTE connectivity module with a universal band SIM/eSIM, sensors to detect VOC gases, humidity, temperature, filter ages and filter states, and actuators to control a UV lamp and fan speeds. There are dashboards, an app, reports, alarms, notifications, and administration features, in addition to the sensors and actuators.

The OEM is able to provide ‘air quality as a service’ to its customers using the intelligent Air Purifier. By doing so, maintenance services can be upsold. The product can be designed in a way that better understands how it is used, and how to improve it.
